Explore, Play and Discover Nashville

Welcome to Nashville, Tennessee, where the music is always live, and the chicken is always HOT! Here, legends strum side by side with the newest starry-eyed dreamer, and the pulse of the city is felt from the historic halls of the Ryman Auditorium to the buskers on Broadway.

This is a city where old traditions meet modern influence, and around every corner, you’re likely to stumble across one-of-a-kind art, culinary experiences, entertainment, and cultural expressions. Whether you’re celebrating with your bachelorettes or coming for a fun family visit, there’s something for everyone. Read on below to learn more about all there is to do on your vacation to Nashville. Also, head over to our Nashville vacation rentals page to book the perfect rental for your upcoming trip.

Arts & Culture

Nashville, Tennessee, often celebrated as the heart of country music, is also a city rich in culture and history. Wander the exhibits of the Country Music Hall of Fame or discover contemporary masterpieces at the Frist Art Museum.

Feel the pulse of history at the Grand Ole Opry or step into the world-renowned Ryman Auditorium for a glimpse at one of the country's most revered venues.

Go back in time with a visit to the Parthenon, a full-scale replica of Athens' iconic structure, standing majestically in Centennial Park. Or check out one of the city's most iconic vantage points when you walk the Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge.

From art and music to history and nature, you can discover the charm, soul, and rhythm of the city and create unforgettable memories on your next vacation.

Dining and Nightlife

Though we're known for our hot chicken (the best, and original, can be found at Prince's, by the way), there's so much more to the Nashville food scene! Foodies will fall in love with the tasting menu at Chef Sean Brock's Audrey or its upstairs sister restaurant, June where you'll experience a multi-course symphony of southern ingredients elevated to genius-level creativity.

For cultural cuisine, check out East Nashville's Once Upon a Time in France, Greko Greek Street Food, Xiao Bao, and Noko Nashville. Be warned, though, once you make the trip across the river, you may never want to return to the flashy bars of Broadway again. With gems like Pearl Diver, Chopper, Mickey's Tavern, and more, you can have an entire vacation in Nashville and never see a honky-tonk.

The newly-opened 5th & Broadway shopping plaza has made its mark on the downtown landscape, quicky becoming the go-to spot for Broadway dining and entertainment. Boasting the largest rooftop, 30+ eateries and bars, and three stages, there's something for everyone here. Check out Justin Timberlake's Twelve Thirty Club, the Assembly Food Hall, and Sixty Vines. This is also a great spot to pre-game before catching a show at the Ryman, or before hitting the strip on Broadway.

For a taste of local flair, check out Winners and Losers in Midtown, Tailgate Brewery on Demonbreun, and Skulls Rainbow Room in Printers Alley.

Unique Experiences

As a local, we love to say there's more to Nashville than Broadway, because there is! While we love to boot-scoot-boogie with the best of them, once you hit the honky-tonks, you may want to follow the neon rainbow a bit off the beaten path. If you want to experience Nashville like a local, you won't want to miss these places.

Robert's Western World - Yes, Robert's is on Broadway, but it's arguably the best bar on the strip. Pro-tip: Take the alley between the Ryman and the bars and go in the back entrance. You'll avoid the lines and have a killer view of the best house band in town. Order a Recession Special and thank us later.

Speak Easies - They've been popping up everywhere lately, but our favorites are Red Phone Booth, and Patterson House. Finding your way in is half the fun!

Writer's Rounds - The holy grail of venues for writer's rounds is the Bluebird Cafe. Trust us, just buy a ticket. No matter the night, you'll hear some of the best music Nashville has to offer. A beloved saying here is, "It all starts with a song." At the Bluebird you'll hear writers of some of your favorite tunes playing the songs they wrote, live. It's an intimate experience you can't miss. For other writer's rounds check out The Listening Room, City Winery, the Nashville Tour Stop, and for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, the Pitch Meeting live band open mic on Tuesday nights at the Mil at Cannery Hall
